Vieira

Born and raised in Ilha do Ferro, Alagoas, Vieira has been surrounded by art since childhood. His father, a boat builder and skilled sculptor, greatly influenced his artistic development. Using cedar wood, Vieira's father created small, meticulously finished sculptures, a level of care and inventiveness that Vieira inherited.

As a sculptor and painter, Vieira is known for his meticulousness and creativity, qualities that are evident in his work. He primarily works with wood, crafting boats, animals, beings, and human figures inspired by the culture and landscapes of the region where he was born and still resides. His pieces are colored with oil paint in warm tones, and the female figures he sculpts are adorned with vibrant, detailed clothing, often embellished with brooches or earrings made from repurposed beads.

In addition to his artistic creations, Vieira also makes utilitarian pieces, such as furniture, including rocking chairs and "namoradeiras" (a type of decorative chair). These furniture pieces are decorated with paintings depicting scenes from the sertão or exploring themes like love and freedom, further enriching the imaginative world that defines his work.
