Visual artist and Master in Psychology, Thiago Martins de Melo works across painting, sculpture, installation, and stop-motion animation. His practice often begins with painting, expanded into large-scale canvases and objects that depict battles, syncretic rituals, and epiphanies. Drawing from historical painting and collage, his works merge expressionist and realist approaches, incorporating sculptural elements, combat artifacts, mass culture imagery, and cinematic references.

His narratives revisit episodes of anti-colonial resistance, combining references to art history and popular culture. Through vigorous gestures and layered materiality, his works evoke mythological and political atmospheres, offering dense and multifaceted readings.
