Tatiana Blass

Tatiana Blass (São Paulo, 1979) is a Brazilian visual artist who lives and works in Belo Horizonte. She holds a degree in Visual Arts from the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) and creates a multifaceted body of work that includes painting, video, sculpture, and installation.

Since 1998, she has regularly participated in salons, studio shows, and both group and solo exhibitions in Brazil and abroad. Notably, she participated in the 29th São Paulo Biennial and was a finalist for the Nam June Paik Award in Germany. In 2011, she received the "Grants & Commissions" program award from the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation in Miami and won the PIPA Prize, earning both the popular and jury votes, which led to an artist residency at Gasworks in London.

In 2013, the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver in the USA commissioned her video installation "Electrical Room." In 2014, she participated in an artist residency at the 3,14 Stiftelsen Foundation in Bergen, Norway. Since 2007, she has had four solo exhibitions at Galeria Millan, which represents her, and participated in solo projects at fairs such as ArtBo (Bogotá), Zona Maco (Mexico City), and Arco Madrid through the Johannes Vogt Gallery in New York.

Some of her solo exhibitions include: "Penélope" (2011) at Capela do Morumbi, São Paulo; "Fim de partida" (2011) at Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil, Rio de Janeiro; "Cão cego" (2009) at Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia; "Zona Morta" (2007) at Centro Universitário Maria Antonia, São Paulo; and the III Mostra do Programa de Exposições (2003) at Centro Cultural São Paulo, as well as an exhibition at Fundação Joaquim Nabuco in Recife.

Among her notable group exhibitions are: "Cruzamentos: Contemporary Art in Brazil" (2014) at Wexner Center, Columbus, Ohio; "Avante Brasil" (2013) at Kunst im Tunnel, Düsseldorf, Germany; “Terceira Metade” (2011) at Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro; 17th Contemporary Art Festival SESC_Videobrasil; "14th Bahia Salon" (2007) at Museu de Arte Moderna da Bahia, where she received the acquisition prize; "Geração da Virada" (2006) at Instituto Tomie Ohtake, São Paulo; and "Paradoxos Brasil - Rumos Artes Visuais 2006" at Itaú Cultural, São Paulo.

Tatiana Blass is represented by Galeria Millan in São Paulo and Celma Albuquerque Galeria de Arte in Belo Horizonte.
