Rosina Becker Do Valle

Rosina Becker do Valle (Rio de Janeiro, 1914 – 2002) was a renowned Brazilian naïf painter. Before starting her artistic career, Rosina was a housewife and began painting for leisure in 1955. She later enrolled in the school of the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro, where she was a student of Ivan Serpa.

Between 1967 and 1969, Rosina participated in the National Fine Arts Salon and the V and VII editions of the São Paulo Biennial. Her work, focused mainly on folklore, forests, and saints, gained recognition both in Brazil and abroad. She exhibited her works in various Brazilian and international cities, both in collective and individual exhibitions.

Rosina's works are present in important collections, including the Musée d'Art Naïf de L'Île de France, the Museum of Modern Art of Hamburg, and the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires. Additionally, her works have been reproduced in books published in Brazil, Switzerland, England, and France.
