Rosália Lerner

Rosália Lerner, a Brazilian visual artist, began her artistic studies at the age of 16 at the Panamerican School of Art. In 1970, she enrolled in the Faculty of Visual Arts at FAAP. In 1972, she interned at the Estrela toy factory in the doll modeling area, recommended by Professor Nicolas Vlavianos. During her final year of study, in 1974 and 1975, she interned in the studio of artist Grace Kawall. Lerner graduated with a degree in Drawing and Visual Arts, holding her first exhibition at the Museum of Brazilian Art in a student group show in 1973.

In 1977, she attended the open studio at the Lasar Segall Museum under the guidance of Professor Antônio Hélio Cabral, where she first used watercolor, which became her primary medium. In 1978, she exhibited her drawings and watercolors at Galeria Grife in São Paulo.

Lerner held various solo exhibitions, including a show of watercolors and drawings at the IPEN (Institute of Energy and Nuclear Research) at USP in 1981 and an exhibition of 60 watercolors at the Centro Cultural São Paulo in 1987. Between 1982 and 1986, she developed silk painting techniques and participated in collective exhibitions with independent artists.

From 1995, she resumed watercolor on paper, also reproducing her works on T-shirts, sold at locations such as MASP, MAM, Fundação Maria Luísa e Oscar Americano, and the Pinacoteca do Estado. In 1999, she held a watercolor exhibition at Livraria Cultura in São Paulo, celebrating the city's anniversary with a series of thematic works. She received 2nd place as a watercolorist in the Cultural Marathon Show of the State Department of Culture, promoted by ACESC at Clube Paineiras do Morumby.

In 2006, she exhibited again at Livraria Cultura and held solo exhibitions at the Clube A Hebraica Art Gallery in 2000 and 2007. In 2012, she illustrated the book "Arte e Sabedoria Milenar Semana a Semana," launched at Livraria Cultura, with comments from the rabbis of the Congregação Israelita Paulista, a project supported by the Culture Incentive Law.
