Roberto Micoli

Roberto Micoli (Campinas, São Paulo, 1953) is a painter and draftsman. His first experiences with drawing came through the guidance of his father, Mário Micoli. Largely self-taught in painting, he draws inspiration from the work of artists such as Antonio Peticov (1946), Tomoshige Kusuno (1935), Mira Schendel (1919–1988), and Antonio Dias (1944).

In 1978, he joined the Children's Art Workshop at the Casa de Cultura in Valinhos, São Paulo. Later, in 1983, he took part in the Projeto Jacaré, an initiative that brought painting and performance actions to the streets of São Paulo.
