Rob Wynne

Rob Wynne (New York, 1948) is an American visual artist best known for his glass-based works, creating wall installations that combine abstract forms and text.

His practice is multidisciplinary, encompassing sculpture, painting, drawing, collage, photography, and design. Early in his career, he was influenced by the Fluxus movement, particularly through his connection with Ray Johnson, which shaped his interest in language, communication, and experimentation.

In the 1970s, Wynne also engaged with music and performance, composing sound pieces and collaborating on experimental artistic projects. Over time, his work evolved to incorporate industrial materials and conceptual approaches.

In recent years, he has focused on glass as his primary medium, developing reflective text-based works that engage directly with the viewer. His pieces often use fragments of language to create introspective and immersive experiences.

Wynne is a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award and has exhibited in major institutions, including the Brooklyn Museum.
