Paulo Von Poser

Paulo Fernando von Poser (São Paulo, São Paulo, 1968) is an architect, draftsman, engraver, professor, and set designer. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the University of São Paulo (FAU/USP) in 1982. During his studies, he began teaching observational drawing courses and, from 1989 onwards, started drawing roses. This recurring theme in his work became more recognized in 1996 when he illustrated the calendar of the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of São Paulo (MAC/USP) with flowers.

Von Poser has held numerous solo and group exhibitions. Among them, "Horizons" (2001) stands out, comprising drawings and paintings exhibited on beaches in Bahia and at Arpoador, Rio de Janeiro. Alongside photographer Cristina Guerra, he created the project "You Are Here," which resulted in three exhibitions in 2006. In 2007, he participated in a public art manifestation in Auvergne, France; the Siart Art Biennial in La Paz, Bolivia; and installed a panel of 3,500 tiles on the walls of the Araçá cemetery in São Paulo. In 2008, he restored the foyer and ceiling of the Theatro Guarany in Santos, and in 2010, he released his first book, "The City and the Rose." Two years later, he exhibited some works at the Brazilian Sculpture Museum (MuBE) in a show commemorating his 30-year career. Currently, he teaches drawing at Escola da Cidade and the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of Santos (FAUS).
