OSGEMEOS are among the most influential artist duos in contemporary Brazilian art, known for creating a distinctive visual universe that moves fluidly between graffiti, painting, installation, and large-scale urban interventions. Born in São Paulo, identical twins Gustavo and Otávio Pandolfo began their artistic journey in the late 1980s within the city’s hip-hop scene, gradually developing a highly personal and recognizable language rooted in street culture.

Since the mid-1990s, OSGEMEOS have played a key role in bringing graffiti aesthetics into the contemporary art context, expanding their practice across multiple media and institutional settings. Their works are populated by elongated, yellow-toned characters that blend elements of Brazilian folklore, popular urban culture, and the artists’ dreamlike imagination. These figures operate as poetic allegories of social life in major Brazilian cities, addressing themes such as identity, inequality, memory, and belonging.

Throughout their career, the duo has maintained a strong connection to the urban landscape, using painting as a means of symbolically transforming public space and challenging the visual homogeneity of modern cities. Alongside their street-based practice, their studio work engages with drawing, music, literature, and architecture, resulting in immersive installations and ambitious site-specific projects.

Recent solo exhibitions include OSGEMEOS: Endless Story at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C. (2024); OSGEMEOS: Nossos Segredos at CCBB Rio de Janeiro (2022); When the Leaves Turn to Yellow at CAC Málaga, Spain (2022); Segredos at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum, Curitiba (2021), and at the Pinacoteca de São Paulo (2020); as well as Portal at Lehmann Maupin, New York (2020), and You Are My Guest at the Fosun Foundation, Shanghai (2020).

They have also participated in numerous international group exhibitions, establishing a strong global presence since the early 2000s.

Works by OSGEMEOS are held in major public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM-SP), the Pinacoteca of São Paulo, the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, and the Franks-Suss Collection in London.
