Marianita Linck

Marianita Linck (born 1924 in Brazil), known artistically as Marianita, is one of the most representative ceramists of Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil. After her graduation in 1945, Marianita honed her skills in various international cities, including Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Indiana (USA), and Japan. Her exhibitions are always highly anticipated, as she is selective in publicly offering her work.

Marianita's work is characterized by extreme technical rigor, with each piece based on a specific thematic idea. Her works propose themes metaphorically, avoiding obviousness and simple allusion. While the female body is her primary inspiration, her creations are closely linked to the four vital elements: earth, water, air, and fire. The final result of her work is marked by a delicate sense of volume, where her ceramic pieces, which she calls "pots," evoke the early ceramic objects humanity produced as utensils.

Marianita's pieces are not only a visual delight but also stimulate synesthesia, allowing the observer to appreciate them with all senses. Marianita remains active, working and showcasing her pieces in Porto Alegre. At the Galeria Tina Zappoli, she has held several solo exhibitions and has participated in all major group exhibitions since 1992.
