Maria Polo

Maria Polo (Italy, 1937 - 1983) was a renowned Italian painter, draughtswoman, printmaker, and stained glass artist. She studied at the Venice Art Institute from 1949 to 1955, where she developed her artistic skills and laid the foundation for her career. Four years after completing her studies, in 1959, Maria Polo moved to Brazil, settling in São Paulo.

Invited by Pietro Maria Bardi, Maria Polo held her first solo exhibition in São Paulo, marking the beginning of her artistic career in Brazil. From the 1970s onwards, the artist expanded her repertoire to include work with tiles and stained glass, showcasing her versatility and skill in various artistic techniques.

Maria Polo is recognized for her significant contributions to art in both Italy and Brazil.
