Kboco

Márcio Medanha, better known by his pseudonym Kboco, is a self-taught artist who began drawing in his childhood. Inspired by hip-hop culture and the streets of his hometown, Kboco has pushed the boundaries of art by creating compositions on an architectural scale that are dynamic and unique. His work is a fusion of different times and places, displaying chromatic and constructive elegance closely associated with graffiti culture. References to architecture, Moorish art, and African-origin religions further enrich his distinctive art, which spans over 25 years of production.

The pursuit of a Brazilian artistic language led Kboco to live in various cities, including Porto Alegre (RS), Olinda (PE), and São Paulo (SP), where he refined his urban interventions. In 2015, he returned to Goiás, seeking new references among the cerrado in the Chapada dos Veadeiros, Cavalcante, and Brasília. Kboco has an impressive resume with participation in the biennials of Valencia (ESP), Monterrey (MEX), and São Paulo, as well as solo exhibitions in São Paulo, Curitiba, Goiânia, New York (USA), and Basel (SUI), and more than 20 group exhibitions around Brazil and the world. Currently, the artist resides and works in Goiânia.
