Itelvino Jahn

Itelvino Jahn is a Brazilian artist from Rio Grande do Sul, born in 1958, who lives and works in the countryside of Montenegro. He has been exhibiting his work for many years, participating in both group and solo exhibitions in his home state and São Paulo. Jahn has a deep and personal relationship with the materials he uses, seeing them as extensions of himself during the creative process.

For Jahn, art is an extension of his life and existence: “The material and I are distinct beings. When I start my work, we become one, as if the material were part of me, of my being. I try to transmit to the material my energy, life, soul and then the work emerges. Art is realized... Work, nature, and art in a relationship of reciprocity. My art is my own life.” This philosophy highlights his commitment to integrating energy, life, and soul into his works, reflecting a symbiosis between artist and material that culminates in the creation of authentic and meaningful art.
