Ismael Caldas
Ismael Caldas was born in 1944 in Garanhuns, PE. In 1963, he moved to Recife, where he began his journey in the arts. In 1966, he enrolled at the Visual Arts School of the Federal University of Pernambuco, establishing a solid foundation in his artistic education.
By 1969, he was teaching drawing and painting at Oficina 154 in Olinda, playing a significant role in the development of young local artists. In 1970, he started collaborating with artisanal cooperatives in Recife, providing technical and artistic guidance as part of the Artene/Sudene Program, an initiative focused on the promotion and appreciation of regional art and crafts.
