Hernán Salamanco

Hernán Salamanco, born in Buenos Aires in 1974, is a visual artist with notable education, having studied at the National School of Fine Arts Prilidiano Pueyrredón in his hometown and the Academie Royale des Beaux Arts in Belgium. His artistic career is marked by significant recognitions, including support from the National Endowment for the Arts in 2000 and the 2nd Acquisition Prize at the LXII National Salon Museum Castagnino Rosario MACRO in 2008.

Salamanco has had several important solo exhibitions, notably at Baro Cruz Gallery in São Paulo (2007), Braga Menéndez in Buenos Aires (2004, 2006, 2008), and at Thomas Cohn Art Gallery also in São Paulo (2002). Furthermore, between 1999 and 2002, he was actively involved in producing samples at the Rojas Cultural Center Ricardo Rector of the University of Buenos Aires (U.B.A.) and DUPLUS.

In the 1990s, Salamanco was part of an innovative group of artists who challenged conventions by exhibiting in unconventional spaces, thus expanding the boundaries of the traditional art circuit.
