Giselda Leirner

Giselda Leirner is a Brazilian artist and academic born into a family deeply rooted in the arts. Daughter of Isai and Felícia Leirner and sister to Nelson Leirner, she was educated by masters of the arts such as Emiliano Di Cavalcanti, Yolanda Mohalyi, and Poty Lazzarotto. Giselda also studied at the Art Students League and Parson School of Design in New York. Her works are part of important collections, including the São Paulo Art Museum (Masp) and the Jerusalem Museum. Alongside her artistic career, Giselda graduated in Philosophy from the University of São Paulo, specializing in the philosophy of religion. She has published four books in Brazil, with the first also being edited in France in 2005, demonstrating her relevance in both the arts and philosophy fields.
