Francisco Maringelli

Francisco Maringelli, born in 1959, is a Brazilian artist who graduated in Visual Arts from the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA-USP) between 1984 and 1989, and in Architecture and Urbanism from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism of the University of São Paulo (FAU-USP) between 1979 and 1985. He works as a professor in the Visual Arts bachelor's program at the Centro Universitário Belas Artes in São Paulo. Maringelli is known for his works in engraving, painting, and installations, exploring urban and everyday themes through various techniques including woodcut and metal engraving.

His artistic production has been highlighted in several exhibitions, both in Brazil and internationally. Among his main shows are "Gravura na Ponta da Faca" at the Hemeroteca of the Mario de Andrade Library in São Paulo (2016), "Dream Dealers" at Galeria Mezanino, São Paulo (2015), and participations in biennials such as the 1st South American Biennial of Engraving and Printed Art at the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro and Museo Emílio Caraffa, Córdoba, Argentina (2014).

Maringelli has also held significant solo exhibitions such as "Maringelli: Percurso Gráfico" at Caixa Cultural São Paulo (2012) and "Europália Brèsil Gravure Extrême" at the Centre de la Gravure et l'Image, in Belgium (2011). His work is part of important public and private collections, reflecting his relevance in the contemporary art scene.
