Fernando Ribeiro

Fernando Ribeiro was born in 1965 in São Paulo, Brazil. From an early age, he demonstrated a strong connection to drawing. Influenced by the works of Robert Crumb, he began his artistic career at 16 as a final artist at Lynx Film, contributing to the animated feature "Simplex," which earned the Golden Lion at Cannes. He later moved to Rio de Janeiro, where he worked at the Hanna-Barbera studio and studied at the School of Visual Arts at Parque Lage under the guidance of cartoonist Molica.

Upon returning to São Paulo, he was invited to lead the creation of the Sunday children’s supplement for Diário do Povo. Back in Rio de Janeiro, he joined Nelson Leirner’s atelier as a student and later collaborated as a producer and assistant in national and international exhibitions. From 1990 onwards, Ribeiro fully committed to his career in the visual arts, establishing himself as a prominent artist.
