Décio Paiva Noviello

Décio Paiva Noviello was born in 1929 in São Gonçalo do Sapucaí, Minas Gerais, Brazil. A multidisciplinary artist, he developed his career as a painter, printmaker, and draftsman, combining his artistic practice with extensive experience in education and editorial work.

Throughout his career, Noviello taught drawing, geometry, mathematics, and topography at military educational institutions. He also served as art director of the magazine published by the Academia Militar das Agulhas Negras and worked as an illustrator for the Brazilian Army Library, further extending his involvement in the graphic and visual arts.

His professional career also included work in higher education. In 1998, he taught subjects related to the history of costume and scenography at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG).
