Nazareth Pacheco (São Paulo, SP, 1961) is a renowned Brazilian visual artist known for her works that explore the body and identity through installations, sculptures, and objects.

Education and Early Steps:
Nazareth Pacheco studied fine arts at Mackenzie Presbyterian University from 1981 to 1983. In 1985, she held her first solo exhibition at the Julio Bogoricin Cultural Space in São Paulo. Her career gained new momentum in 1986 after participating in a workshop led by Guto Lacaz, where she began her experiments with ready-mades.

International Experience:
In 1987, Pacheco traveled to Paris, where she attended the sculpture studio at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. This international experience significantly contributed to the development of her artistic practice.

Recognition and Awards:
In 1989, Nazareth Pacheco received the acquisition award at the 11th National Salon of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro and participated in the 20th São Paulo International Biennial, cementing her presence in the Brazilian art scene.

Workshops and Influences:
Between 1990 and 1991, Pacheco participated in workshops with prominent Brazilian artists, including Iole de Freitas, Carmela Gross, José Resende, Amilcar de Castro, Nuno Ramos, and Waltercio Caldas. These interactions enriched her artistic approach and expanded her techniques and concepts.

Research and Documentary:
In 2002, she defended her dissertation "Seductive Objects" at the School of Communications and Arts at the University of São Paulo (ECA/USP) under the guidance of Carlos Fajardo. In 2003, the documentary "Gilete Azul," directed by psychoanalyst Miriam Schnaiderman, was released, exploring her work and trajectory.

Style and Themes:
Nazareth Pacheco's work often addresses themes such as pain, pleasure, body, and identity. Using unusual materials like razors, glass, and everyday objects, the artist creates pieces that provoke reflection and questioning about human and social experiences.
