Paulo Cláudio Rossi, better known as Paulo Rossi Osir, was a prominent Brazilian painter, draftsman, architect, and industrialist, born in São Paulo on November 8, 1890, and passed away in the same city on December 29, 1959. He played a crucial role in the development of modern painting in São Paulo.

Son of an Italian father and a French mother, Paulo Rossi Osir was sent to Europe at a young age to pursue his studies. In Italy, he studied Humanities, Architecture, and Painting. He also studied in France, England, and Germany, where he came into contact with the expressionist movement. Upon returning to Brazil, Paulo Rossi Osir became actively involved in the artistic movement in São Paulo. He participated in various modernist groups that emerged in the 1930s and 1940s, earning a position of leadership.

Contributions and Legacy
Paulo Rossi Osir founded Osirarte, a company specializing in artistic tiles, which became renowned for executing works for important artists, including Candido Portinari. Osirarte also included collaborations with Alfredo Volpi, another great name in Brazilian art. Paulo Rossi Osir's contributions to modern art in Brazil, through both his artistic production and Osirarte, left a lasting legacy in Brazilian culture.
