Mário Cravo Júnior (April 13, 1923 – August 1, 2018) was a renowned Brazilian sculptor, designer, and painter. He was a pioneer among the first generation of visual artists in Salvador, alongside notable figures like Carybé and Genaro de Carvalho. Mário Cravo Júnior had a prolific career in the 1970s, creating numerous solo and group exhibitions, winning various awards, and producing public sculptures throughout Brazil, especially in Salvador. His works are also housed in museums around the world.

His creations were inspired by a variety of materials and influences, including the strong Afro-Brazilian traditions of his native Bahia. Among his most famous works is the "Fonte da Rampa do Mercado" located in the Comércio neighborhood of Salvador. Mário Cravo Júnior left a significant legacy in Brazilian art, influencing future generations, including his son, Mário Cravo Neto, and his grandson, Christian Cravo, both renowned photographers.
