Gustavo Lacerda, born in Belo Horizonte in 1970, is a prominent art photographer with a degree in journalism from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG). Since 2000, Lacerda has lived in São Paulo, where his work has gained international prominence.
His career is highlighted by exhibitions in countries such as France, Germany, England, the United States, the Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Spain, China, Korea, and Russia. Since 2010, his works have been part of the São Paulo Art Museum (MASP) collection, and he has won multiple awards, including the Porto Seguro Photography Award (2010) and the Conrado Wessel Foundation Art Award (2005, 2006, 2007, 2011).
Lacerda has participated in renowned biennials and international photography festivals, notably the Photoquai photography biennale at the Musée du quai Branly in Paris, Europalia in Brussels, and Photo España in Madrid. His "Albinos" series will be featured in the group exhibition "Latent Element" at Sesc Santana, starting July 24.
The author of his first book, published by Madalena Publishing, Gustavo is represented by Arte 57 Gallery in Brazil and Catherine Edelman Gallery in the United States.
