Waldemar Cordeiro (Rome, April 12, 1925 — São Paulo, June 30, 1973) was an Italian-Brazilian visual artist, designer, illustrator, landscape architect, urban planner, journalist, and art critic. Educated at the Liceu Tasso and the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Cordeiro developed ties with members of the Italian Communist Party during the fascist regime, maintaining these ideological convictions throughout his life.

After moving to Brazil in the 1940s, Cordeiro quickly became a central figure in the country's art scene. He participated in the inaugural exhibition of the São Paulo Museum of Modern Art (MAM-SP) and the first edition of the São Paulo Biennial. Cordeiro is best known for being the theorist and leader of the Ruptura Group, which marked the beginning of Concretism in Brazil, and for his involvement with the Rex Group, the core of Brazilian New Figuration.

Throughout his career, Cordeiro sought to merge art and technology, becoming one of the first Brazilian artists to explore computer art. His work spanned various fields and left a significant legacy in modern Brazilian art.
