Renata Pedrosa began her artistic journey by participating in her first group exhibition in 1994 at the MAM Bahia Salon. In 1995, she moved to New York, where she was represented by the Carla Stellweg Gallery. Upon returning to Brazil in 1997, she held exhibitions in Campinas, Belo Horizonte, and Brasília through the Itaú Cultural Visual Arts Program. In 1998, she received a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and in 2001, she created her first urban intervention for the inauguration of the CCBB-SP.

In 2002, she was selected to exhibit at Funarte-SP and participated in artist residencies in Denmark and Paraná, at Faxinal das Artes. In 2004, she earned a Master’s degree in Visual Poetics from ECA-USP and took part in a residency at SESC-Pinheiros, Labdart. The following year, she executed her fourth urban installation in São Paulo. In 2006, she produced a DVD featuring her interventions for the 5th Anniversary of CCBB-SP.

In 2008, she worked on the facade of Galeria Vermelho, and in 2009, she had her first solo exhibition at Galeria Virgilio. In 2011, she created a piece for the Trianon-MASP subway station. In 2013, she earned a Doctorate from ECA-USP and, the following year, held her third solo exhibition at Galeria Virgilio, titled "Chão".

In 2015, she participated in a residency at the European Ceramic Work Centre (EKWC) in the Netherlands, and in 2016, she published the book "Cem Terras" through Annablume. In 2017, she took part in an exhibition at MAC-USP with the piece "Nome", now part of the museum’s collection. In 2018, she participated in a film show at the Faculty of Architecture at UFBA with the video installation "Sobras", which was exhibited in 2019 at Centro Cultural B_arco. That same year, she held "Lampejo", her fifth solo exhibition at Galeria Virgilio.
