Rosana Palazyan

Rosana Palazyan, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1963, is a renowned Brazilian visual artist. Her artistic practice spans various forms, including video, performance, drawing, and installation, with significant emphasis on embroidery. Her works often address social issues.

Of Armenian descent, Rosana graduated in architecture from Universidade Gama Filho and attended courses at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage between 1988 and 1992. She participated in the 56th Venice Biennale, representing the Armenian Pavilion, where she addressed issues related to the Armenian genocide, a theme deeply connected to her family's history. With this work, Rosana Palazyan won the Golden Lion for Best National Pavilion.
