Marina Saleme (São Paulo, Brazil, 1958) is a painter, photographer and teacher. He began her studies in art in Montreux, Switzerland in 1976. In the following year the artist studied painting at Fundação Alvares Penteado, where she also received her degree in Fine Arts. In 1981, the artist studies drawing and painting with Carlos Fajardo and later also is taught by Cássio Michalany, Rodrigo Naves and Alberto Tassinari.

Since 1997, she illustrates the Tendências e Debates column in the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. In 1999 she joins the Temporada de Projetos program at the Paço das Artes in São Paulo, Brazil. As of 2002 she teaches the Pintura e seus Processos Criativos course at the Instituto Tomie Ohtake (ITO).

In 2004 the artist participates in a residency in the Surface Sensible project in the Centre d’Art Contemporaine de Baie-Saint-Paul in Quebec, Canada. In 2006 Saleme presented a solo exhibition, Contadores, at the Pinacoteca do Estado de São Paulo (PESP).
