Marcelo Zocchio

Marcelo Zocchio is a multifaceted photographer and artist, with a degree in Civil Engineering from Mackenzie School of Engineering. In the 1990s, he enhanced his artistic skills by attending the General Studies Program at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York. Currently, Zocchio works in the institutional market as a photographer, as well as a designer and carpenter, designing and manufacturing furniture, objects, and interior pieces. As an artist, he develops personal projects that explore dialogues between photographic images, form, and three-dimensional illusion.

Since 1991, Marcelo Zocchio has participated in group and solo exhibitions, with works featured in prestigious public and private collections, including the São Paulo Museum of Art Assis Chateaubriand (MASP), the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM-SP), and the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro (MAM-RJ). In 1999, he published the book “Pequeno Dicionário Ilustrado de Expressões Idiomáticas” and, in 2012, released “Repaisagem São Paulo”.

Throughout his career, Zocchio has received several important awards, such as the National Photography Award from Funarte in 1996 and the Porto Seguro Photography Award in 2005. His work is recognized for its ability to create new perceptions and visual experiences through his investigations into the interaction between photography and three-dimensionality.
