Marcelo Solá

Marcelo Solá (Goiânia, Brazil, 1971) is a renowned Brazilian draftsman who lives and works in Goiânia. Solá is known for his ability to communicate primarily through drawing, a medium he uses to express his vision of the world and everyday life in cities, with a frequent focus on architecture.

The artist explores his lines in various media, such as screen printing, monotype, and even installations. Marcelo Solá has participated in important exhibitions at prestigious institutions, including Instituto Tomie Ohtake, Funarte, Museums of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, Centro Cultural São Paulo, Belgium Culture Festival, 25th São Paulo Biennial, and the Drawing Center in New York.

Solá has received numerous awards throughout his career, such as the “Support for Artistic Research and Creation Grant” from the State of Rio de Janeiro's Department of Culture and the “Contemporary Art Projéteis Award” from Funarte, twice. Additionally, he has participated in artist residencies both in Brazil and abroad, including in the United States, Canada, and the Netherlands, where he further developed and expanded his artistic work.
