Flávia Junqueira was born in 1985 in São Paulo, where she lives and works. Through her photography she creates scenarios highlighting excess in materialism. She explores the connections people make between memories, objects and the space in which they inhabit. In her self-portraits, she presents the duality of material consumption and human interaction. Flávia holds a BFA from the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado, FAAP and a Masters in Poéticas Visuais from the Universidade de São Paulo. She is currently enrolled in a Post-Graduate study in Photography at FAAP. She participated in the residency programs of Izolyatsia’s Platform for Cultural Initiatives in Ukraine, and Cité Internationale Dês Arts in Paris. Flávia’s photographs are in the permanent collections of Sergio Carvalho, Museu da Imagem e do Som, Museu de arte contemporânea de Jataí, Museu de Arte Brasileira da Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado in Brazil, along with the World Bank in Boston, and others. Her work has been exhibited in venues such the Palais de Tokyo, The World Bank Art Program, Kaunas Photo Festival, Photo España, Prêmio Energias at the Arte do Instituto Tomie Otahke, Programa Nova Fotografia do Museu da Imagem e do Som, and Concurso Itamaraty. Her solo exhibition “Tomorrow i will be born again” at the Cité Dês Arts, showcased her large photo compositions. Complete CV
