Engraver, painter.
In 1953, he started at the School of Fine Arts in São Paulo, where he studied painting with Theodoro Braga (1872-1953), Antonio Paim Vieira (1895-1988) and Joaquim da Rocha Ferreira (1900-1965), as well as modeling and sculpture with Vicente Larocca (1892-1964). Between 1956 and 1957, he studied metal engraving with Francesc Domingo Segura (1893-1974). Specializes in metal engraving, in the etching technique. In parallel with his artistic career, he has developed an intense teaching activity in several institutions, such as the School of Fine Arts, the Armando Álvares Penteado Foundation (Faap) and the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo (ECA / USP).
During the military regime, he promotes auctions of his own works to help the families of political prisoners and collaborates with the movement for political amnesty. In his graphic production, he constantly focuses on the urban scenery of São Paulo. The artist, who reveals extreme technical care in the execution of his works, constantly re-elaborates certain images.
