Desali

Desali is a prominent Brazilian artist with a degree in Fine Arts from Escola Guignard (UEMG). His active presence in the Brazilian art scene includes participation in significant exhibitions such as “Enciclopédia Negra” at the São Paulo Pinacoteca; “Carolina Maria de Jesus: A Brazil for Brazilians” at the Moreira Salles Institute; “Sertão” in Panorama 36 at MAM; the Pampulha Grant at the Pampulha Museum of Art (MAP); as well as the 32nd editions of both the Arte Pará and Itajaí Salons.

Desali is also widely recognized for his involvement in artist residencies and for showcasing his work in national and international exhibitions. His pieces are part of important collections, including the São Paulo Cultural Center (CCSP) in the “City Art” collection; the Pampulha Museum of Art (MAP); and the São Paulo Pinacoteca.

As the founder of the Piolho Nababo Collective in Belo Horizonte, Desali explores diverse artistic media such as graffiti, photography, video, and urban interventions. His work addresses themes like the boundaries between center and margin and questions colonialism within traditional art institutions, bringing the essence of street life into institutional spaces.
