Daniel Senise Portela (Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, 1955) is a distinguished Brazilian painter and printmaker. He began his studies at the School of Visual Arts of Parque Lage (EAV/Parque Lage) in 1980 and later became a teacher in the Painting Core at the same institution from 1986 to 1991. He learned from masters such as John Nicholson and Luiz Aquila and was part of the emblematic exhibition "How Are You Generation 80?". His first individual exhibition took place at the Gallery of the Rio Business Center in 1984, and in the same year, he joined the Ateliê da Lapa with other renowned artists.

He gained significant recognition in 1985 by participating in the Grande Tela at the 18th São Paulo International Biennial. In 1986, he was awarded the gold medal at the 1st Latin American Art Biennial on Paper. In 1997, Senise took on the role of coordinator of the galleries at the Centro Cultural Light in Rio de Janeiro.

The book "Daniel Senise: She Who Is Not" was published in 1998 by Cosac & Naify, containing texts by Ivo Mesquita, Dawn Ades, and Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro. In 2002, the book "The Piano Factory" was released by Andrea Jakobsson Studio Editorial with contributions from Agnaldo Farias and Alexandre Mello, focusing on his more recent production. Senise held notable solo exhibitions such as at the Estação Pinacoteca in São Paulo in 2009, at Gallery 32 in London in 2010, and at the Vermelho Gallery in São Paulo in 2014.
