Arnaldo Battaglini

Is a renowned Brazilian sculptor, engraver, draftsman, and jewelry designer. In 1975, he moved to London where he expanded his training in visual arts. He studied painting, drawing, and engraving at the Wimbledon School of Art from 1976 to 1977, art history at Middlesex Polytechnic, and engraving at Morley College under the guidance of Birgit Sköld. He also attended Sir John Cass School of Art and Camden Arts Centre between 1978 and 1979.

Upon returning to Brazil in 1980, he continued his studies at the Centro de Estudos e Artes Visuais Aster in São Paulo, under the guidance of Regina Silveira, and attended the studio of Sérgio Fingermann between 1981 and 1982. From 1984 to 1989, he coordinated the Atelier de Livre Expressão em Artes Plásticas at the Museu Lasar Segall, a project with significant social reach. He was also the creator and coordinator of the 1st and 2nd Circuito Atelier Aberto, events parallel to the 19th and 20th editions of the São Paulo International Biennial.

In 1994, he coordinated the 1st Exchange of Brazilian and British Engraver Artists. In 1997, he designed the "Arnaldo" rug for the Cia. de Tapetes Ocidentais in São Paulo, and from 1997 to 1999, he developed silver jewelry for the Ceremonial of the Itamaraty Palace in Brasília. He was awarded in the 1st National Competition of Three-Dimensional Public Art in Guairá in 2006.
