Born in São Felipe, Bahia, in 1953, Almandrade is a distinguished visual artist, architect, master in urban design, poet, and professor who lives and works in Salvador. His multifaceted contribution to the art world is evidenced by his participation in numerous renowned collective exhibitions, including the XII, XIII, and XVI São Paulo Biennials, and "In Search of Essence", a special showcase at the XIX São Paulo Biennial.

Almandrade is also recognized for his participation in national salons and thematic exhibitions, such as the Universe of Football at MAM/Rio, and for his innovative installations and visual poetry both in Brazil and abroad. His talent was honored with an honorable mention at the I Student Salon in 1972, marking the beginning of an artistic journey filled with accolades.

With around thirty individual exhibitions across various Brazilian states, Almandrade has solidified his presence in the national art scene. His works are part of significant collections, both private and public, including the Museum of Modern Art of Bahia, the National Museum of Fine Arts in Rio de Janeiro, the Municipal Pinacoteca of São Paulo, and the Afro Museum in São Paulo, among international institutions.
