Victor Arruda

Victor André Pinto de Arruda was born in Cuiabá, Brazil in 1947. A professor, illustrator, engraver and painter. A founding member of the Tato e Conato group, the artist is responsible for the installation of the first free art atelier for children in Funabem, Rio de Janeiro in 1977. In 1982 Arruda became the organizer of the children's section of the A Margem da Vida exhibition, he also taught art at the Instituto Penal Lemos de Brito. In 1989 Arruda was also invited by Oscar Niemeyer to paint a panel in the foyer of the Memorial da América Latina theater in São Paulo.
