Sandra Regina Cinto

Sandra Regina Cinto

Brazil - 1968

Sandra Cinto was born in 1968 in Santo Andre in Brazil. She studied visual arts at the Faculdades Integradas Teresa D’Ávila, Santo André, Brazil, and later received fellowships from Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. Though she works with a variety of media, the artist is particularly noted for her powerful yet highly lyrical drawings. She uses these drawing as a starting point of her ephemeral body of work that spans between fantasy and reality. The central motif of the majority of both her old and new works is the circle of life embodied in the depictions of a variety of natural elements including deep sea, twinkling stars, or wild rain. The colorful highly dynamic depictions of natural forces simultaneously represent a metaphorical journey through numerous problems that people have to deal with every day during their lives.
