Marianita Linck

Marianita Linck

Brazil - 1924

Marianita Linck is one of Brazil’s most important ceramic artists. After her graduation in 1945, she perfected her technique in Montevideo, Uruguay, Buenos Aires, Argentina, Indiana, USA and in Japan. Her exhibits are always important since the artist insists on displaying her work publicly. Lincks’ pieces always portray the artist extreme technical rigos and each work is based on a different thematic concept, proposed metaphorically which avoids obviousness. Her main inspiration is the female body. However, her use of the female body is always counter strike with the earth's vital elements: earth, water, air and fire. What is shown to the bare eye is not a detail, but a delicately thought of sense of volume. Her ceramic art pieces are not only a delight to the eyes, but also cause a synesthetic effect, evoking all the other senses.

Marianita maintains her artistry, working and showing her pieces at Galeria Tina Zappoli in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She has participated in a number of important collectives since 1992.
