José Sabóia

José Sabóia was born in Almadina, Bahia, in 1949.
He displayed his paintings for the first time 1969 in Fortaleza and he didn‘t stop since then. He did many exhibitions in main Brazilian cities, predominantly in the area Rio de Janeiro -São Paulo.
Abroad he did individual exhibitions in São Francisco, USA and in Munich, Germany. Beyond that he participated in collective exhibitions in several countries and especially in France with exhibitions organised by the Galerie Jacqueline Bricard and a permanent presence at the Galerie Naïfs du Monde Entier in Paris.
José Sabóia participated in the Concurso Internacional de Morges, where his painting was chosen by the public as the best work among 60 participants of 22 countries. This resulted in an invitation from the Galeria Kasper to organise an individual exhibition in 1997.
