Hilton Berredo is an artist and performer.

In 1978 Berredo graduated from Universidade Gama Filho with a degree in architecture; he also has a doctored in the same topic from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. He is also a co-editor of PROARQ an architecture publication.
In 2006, Berredo won the “Público de Idéias - Projeto de Urbanização do Complexo da Rocinha, Governo do Estado do Rio de Janeiro” contest as an architect associate.

A self-taught painter, he also learned from Flavio Berredo, Sérgio Campos Mello, Ronaldo Rego Macedo, Manfredo Souzanetto, Aluísio Carvão and Lídio Bandeira de Mello. He was also an assistant to Keith Sonnier in New York City.

Berredo has shown his work in galleries in Brazil and abroad, with highlights being the XX Bienal in São Paulo, and Brazilian art shows in museum in Paris, Madrid, Berlin, Munich, Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Buenos Aires.

His artwork includes rubber sculptures, installations, performances and paintings; they are included in the collections of the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes, Museu de Arte Contemporânea da USP, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro, Museu de Arte de Brasília.

Since 1986, Hilton Berredo has been developing a line of research involving dance, performance and plastic interventions alongside dancer Giselda Fernandes.
