Drawing on Latin America’s rich tradition of abstract and concrete art, Graciela Hasper incorporates drawing, painting, and photography into large-scale works and installations that explore geometry, color, and the fluidity of forms. Her site-specific pieces tend toward the architectural and use color to create powerful, immersive experiences. Her training includes several workshops at Diana Aisenberg’s studio in Buenos Aires (1988–1991) and the Beca Kuitca-Fundación Antorchas program (1991–1993), as well as residencies at Art Omi, New York (1997); Apexart (with a grant from Fulbright-Fondo Nacional de las Artes), New York (2000); Chinati Foundation, Marfa (2002); and the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center, Italy (2005). Major installations include Notas de luz at Usina del Arte, Buenos Aires (2016); Intemperie at Fundación Banco Santander, Buenos Aires (2019); and Rotación in the Catalinas station of the E subway line, Buenos Aires (2019). Her solo shows include ‘Mi Hermano y Yo’ at Alianza Francesa, Paris (1999); ‘Geografía’ at Instituto de Cooperación Iberoamericana, Buenos Aires (2001); ‘Proximities’ at Dot Fiftyone Gallery, Miami (2018); and ‘Unexpected’ at Sicardi Ayers Bacino, Houston (2019). Her work has also been featured in the group exhibitions ‘Recovering Beauty’ at the Blanton Museum of Art, Austin (2011); ‘My Buenos Aires’ at Maison Rouge, Paris (2015); and ‘Tácticas Luminosas’ at Colección Fortabat, Buenos Aires (2019).

The artist is represented by Galería Vasari, Buenos Aires; Dot Fiftyone Gallery, Miami; and Sicardi Ayers Bacino, Houston.
