Alejandro Lloret was born in Yaguajay, Province of Sancti Spiritus, Cuba,1957. He arrived in Brazil in 1993 and currently lives in São Paulo. He studied at the National School of Arts of Havana (ENA) from 1973 to 1977, specializing in painting and drawing. He works with the Ipanema Gallery in Rio de Janeiro and the Galeria Arte Hall in São Paulo.
He has been developing his paintings and drawings in two strands for 39 years: a hyper-realistic one, influenced by Andrew Wyeth and the German romanticism movement. And the other series in dialogue with the expressionist traditions of the twentieth century.
In June of 2016 participated in the collective exhibition "Works of Fiction". Among his individual exhibitions, in June 2013, he held the "Primavera negra" at the opening exhibition of the Galeria Gávea Warehouse, formerly the Anna Maria Niemayer Gallery. In 2006, the "Veils of March" exhibition of his hyper-realist series took place at the Nader Art Gallery in Santo Domingo. He participated in a 2001 Rainforest Art Foundation collective show at the Las Vegas Art Museum, the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in Taiwan and the Chinese Information and Cultural Center in New York.
